What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a well proven, holistic medicine that can help to decrease pain and stimulate healing. It is helpful for internal conditions like anxiety, digestive issues, fertility, autoimmune diseases, allergies and much more. Science is only beginning to grasp the powerful medicine that is acupuncture and explain the mechanisms behind it.

Why Use Acupuncture?

Because it works! Acupuncture also has few side effects, so it's especially worth a try if you're having trouble controlling pain with more conventional methods. At Riverplace Acupuncture Integrative Health, our primary mission is to help you live a happier and fuller life.

How Do I Get It?

An initial consultation with Dr. Jann Turpin is required to find out if you are a candidate for acupuncture. Your first procedure can usually be done on your first visit, so you don't have to wait to start treatment!

What to Expect

During the Course of Treatment

Quick & Painless

The procedure is quick and painless. You're in and out of the office in about 30-45 minutes.

Treatment Course

The number of procedures you need will vary based on your specific condition, your age, the amount of time you've had it, etc.

Accurate Evaluation

During your consultation, the doctor will review your symptoms and give you an estimate of the number of treatments likely needed based on clinical evidence-based data.

Process

Treatments are repeated 1-4 times a week until maximum improvement is reached. If you are prescribed a maintenance regimen, maintenance may be as little as 1-2 times per month.

Outcomes

Acupuncture treatment often results in a complete absence or control of symptoms, even in difficult conditions that have persisted for years.

Common Questions

Regarding Acupuncture

Am I  Candidate for Acupuncture?

Peer-reviewed medical studies show acupuncture’s effect on nearly every biochemical system in the body. I’ve seen patients suffering from a wide variety of problems respond to acupuncture treatment when nothing else has worked.

So, for most people, yes, acupuncture is absolutely something you should explore.

Is Acupuncture Covered By Insurance?

Sometimes it is, but the coverage may be limited or only for a handful of conditions. So, we’re out of network for all insurance. The good news is, you are in charge of what treatments you get, not an insurance company. And acupuncture treatment is very affordable.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

No. It’s very comfortable. Most people feel no pain or very little pain. They often end up taking a nap during their treatment and leave feeling refreshed and relaxed.
