Jessi was really looking forward to her trip to Boston last week. She was headed out of Jacksonville to spend time with her extended family, and it was a trip she didn’t want to miss. A few days before her flight, chronic neck and shoulder pain, aggravated by yard work and poor sleep, took a turn for the worse.
The pain wasn’t just uncomfortable anymore. It triggered a migraine.
With a Friday flight on the calendar, there wasn’t much time to wait for it to get better. So, Dr. Jann Turpin got to work.
The first treatment included Magic Wand therapy, followed by a Sarapin injection the next day to address the chronic neck pain that was building.
Then Thursday came. The neck pain had progressed into a crippling migraine, and Jessi’s pain level had climbed to a 7 out of 10. With her flight only a day away, Dr. Jann treated her with two separate acupuncture treatments and an Evil Bone Water treatment.
The goal wasn’t to magically make everything disappear. It was to get the pain down enough for Jessi to function and, hopefully, get on that plane. By the time she left the clinic Thursday, her migraine pain had dropped from a 7 to a 3.
Jessi says she experienced more than a 50% reduction in pain. Her shoulder loosened, too. She could finally move, pack for her trip Thursday night and, most importantly, think about something other than how much she hurt.

Her shoulder loosened, too. She could finally move, pack for her trip and, most importantly, think about something other than how much she hurt.
The next morning, Jessi woke up with a light headache, but not the migraine. Her shoulder pain had decreased significantly, and she was able to take one dose of ibuprofen and feel considerably better before boarding her flight from Jacksonville to Boston.
She made her trip and that was the point. Sometimes we get so used to living with pain that we start treating it like something we have to tolerate. We push through and keep telling ourselves it will get better. You don’t always have to live in pain. Jessi’s experience is a reminder that when pain starts interfering with your life, it’s worth asking for help. Sometimes, even one treatment can make a difference.
Why wait when you don’t have to?
If pain keeps you from doing the things you want to do, get on our schedule. After a consultation, Dr. Jann can determine what treatment may be right for you.
